Appraisal Services You Can Trust

You may be unaware of the antique on display in your home, either passed down from your family for generations or purchased at a garage sale, could appraise for more than what you would expect. This is especially true with the price of today’s metal market, most sterling and gold appraisals are undervalued almost by two-thirds. Check when your last appraisal was done because might be time to have those records updated. As a certified antiques appraiser I can provide appraisals that include legal documentation of antiques recognized by both the Internal Revenue Service and The Appraisal Foundation. After knowing the true value of what was handed down in your family, you may even decide to take better care of it.
Desired by collectors for their unique qualities that distinguishes themselves from their modern day equivalents, antiques are often sought after by collectors who cite reasons for collecting them because of their:

  • age
  • rarity
  • craftsmanship
  • design, form or function

The condition of antiques can significantly influence the appraisal value and sale to the highest bidder in an auction. Advid collectors are willing to pay a premium price for collectibles that are in mint condition or have no visible damage (scratches, dents, tears, marks, etc.).

Depending on the item, other factors that can impact the value includes:

  • never opened
  • in original packaging
  • original paint
  • limited edition
  • autographed

The fact that an item is no longer in production and only a few of them are known to exist in the world is what makes an antique so valuable. Scarcity creates demand and if you are in possession of an antique and unsure or curious of its value, please contact me for a certified antique appraisal or call (909) 626-6445. What you have may be worth more than you think.
